Byron Werner is a Los Angeles-based Director of Photography with more than 25 years in the film industry — a career spanning over 30 feature films, 50 short films, 100 music videos, and 100 commercials. His credits include the Vietnam War drama The Last Full Measure, starring Samuel L. Jackson, William Hurt, and Sebastian Stan; Bound to Vengeance, which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival; and the theatrically released features Spinning Gold (2023) and Juliet & Romeo (2025).

He is currently in post-production on the coming-of-age drama So Much for Love and The Revisionist, starring Dustin Hoffman, which is set to premiere at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival. In recognition of his work, Byron was invited to join the Chiaroscuro Collective (CCS), an association of cinematographers dedicated to artistic excellence and the advancement of Italian and international cinematography.

Beyond features, Byron has shot more than 200 short films and commercials for brands including Target, Adidas, Microsoft, and HomeAdvisor, and music videos for artists including Coldplay, Shakira, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, The 1975, ELO, Pharrell, and The Killers. Recent work includes commercials for The Mandalorian and Grogu and the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Halftime Show announcement starring Chris Martin.

A graduate of Chapman University's Bachelor of Fine Arts program in Film and Television, Byron got his start at Sega Studios in the San Francisco Bay Area shooting live-action video games, then built his career by shooting anything and everything he could as a DP rather than climbing a traditional ladder. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters — the family spent 2020 living in Pennsylvania and 2022 in Rome, Italy.
